Who are you?
I'm a midwesterner, artist, curator, and cyclist. I help run a DIY art space in Columbus OH called skylab gallery. Come check us out if you ever find yourself in Ohio.
What do you want?
To make images with purpose and intention, and do things that make me happy.
Photography can be such a reflection of lived experience and life more than other mediums to me. It's always carried the most weight and emotional impact for me.
What gear do you use?
I don't really think gear is very important for image making, use whatever you like. I use a mix of film and digi.
Any interests, hobbies, or passions outside of photography?
I'm a mountain bike racer.
Music, movies, books, TV, games. What are some of your favorites? Any recommendations?
Who or what is inspiring you?
Lately I've been really inspired by people in my life who are able to make art or pursue their passions regardless of whatever adversity they're facing. I think that's an important part of being an artist and human being, using adversity to shape your practice or life.
Got any words of wisdom or a favorite quote?
Be the worst one in any room at whatever you're pursuing. Being humble in a space of talented folks is the best way to learn and grow. One of us is never as good as all of us, nobody is successful alone and everyone should support and lift up one another.
